Passion Project

Today in Passion Projects Savannah and I finished the Email to the SPCA. We ended up sending the email and are waiting on a reply. The email took us 2 days to finish and eventually we finished. It wasn't quite the standard we wanted it to be, but we don't have enough time. Not only did we finish the email, Jayden got some posters done that we're hopefully going to hang around the school.
Next week we're going to start looking for the some ribbons and safety pins for our fundraise. Hopefully get and reply back from the SPCA so we can get on and do our fundraise.

Passion Project

In passion project we are beginning to start making decision to help our project. Savannah, Jayden and I are going to fundraise from the SPCA to help show awareness to animal abuse. We're going to sell Orange ribbons (Orange is the colour of animal awareness). We are starting to write a letter to The SPCA for their permission to support our fundraise. We hope to bring awareness to this matter.

Math

Introduction

In math, we have been learning about Geometry.
We have been given different topics to complete I have chosen to represent objects with drawings and rgthyjujmodel.
This challenge allows us to use our body-kinesthetic-intelligence.

Digital Learning Object

We had to be able to use body-kinesthetic to show our learning. We did that by making representing objects/shapes with our hands. We choose some shapes (circle, square, heart, star, triangle, rectangle.) We took pictures as evidence that we have an understanding of what we are learn't. We took information from Khan Academy to help us complete our work.

Here are some photos to represent shapes by using our body.

Power of one SEXXY Paragraph

In English we have been learning about apartheid and we watch the movie 'The Power of One'.
We now had to write a SEXXY paragraph about the movie. Here is what Maddy and I came up with

Statement:The film technique was used very effectively.
Example:  Geel Piet was standing there with such fear. While Sergeant Borman was standing there with so much confidence.
eXplain: The directors purpose was to show how much power the Afrikaans had over the Black Africans.
eXplanation: It made audience have mixed emotions about it like angry and upset.

Your Link: We don’t have one.

Aotearoa

Aotearoa

Aotearoa is sung by Stan Walker, Maisey Riki, Troy Kingi and Ria hall.
I like this song because it represent our country and what its about and it has the national anthem.
I like the video clip because it shows how beautiful our country is.
The song is about our country.

Here are some song lyrics:
No matter if your near or far
We come from the land of god.

Creating Te Whare Tapa Wha

March 8 2018

We had to get into groups with people we don't usually work with. My group was with Rosa, Marino and Nivvy.
We had to try and recreate Te Whare Tapa Wha with our own definition.

I helped sticking and building Te Whare. Rosa wrote on the sides and we all told her our definitions. Marino help getting the tape and Nivvy at sat there watching.

One of the challenges we faced was trying to get Te Whare to stand up. We all gave our ideas of how to build it and all agreed on one. Another challenge was trying to figure out what the definition of the sides were but we ended up just researching them.

Te Whare Tapa Wha was over all a good experience for us.

English

Setting

In English we have been working on how to show the setting not tell. It was difficult because I am used to just telling in a story not showing.  Here is an example of one.

Ex: I smelt the salty air running through my hair. I hear a very annoying sound repeating it self as it was flying over my head searching for food.
